Yuwanda Black
Yuwanda and Cassandra Black are co-owners of EthnicHomeDecor.com, an online retailer of soft home furnishings with ethnic themes.
Sisters and entrepreneurs since they were very young, EthnicHomeDecor.com is not the first business the two have co-owned. EthnicHomeDecor.com was founded in 2002 by Yuwanda. In January 2003, it merged with EthnicArt.net, owned by Cassandra. The newly merged company retains the name EthnicHomeDecor.com.
Cassandra resides in Atlanta and handles new product design, while Yuwanda resides in New York City and contributes to product design, while overseeing vendor contact and administrative details.
At present, a strictly online entity, the sisters' five-year vision for the company include a retail location, an expanding product line and international shipping. Look for EthnicHomeDecor.com's sister site, EthnicGiftBaskets.com later this month (Feb. 2004).
